Char Dham Yatra Package from Mumbai is a wonderful 13 days spiritual tour of Uttarakhand. Exploring the four sacred Hindu shrines like Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. Begin the tour from Mumbai, as it smartly utilizes an aircraft to reach Delhi to cover the big distance in a quick time. The next 11 days are left on the road across the Himalayas, following the traditional clockwise pilgrimage route in a comfortable and practical time frame.

Itinerary Details:

Day 1: Mumbai to Delhi Transfer (by flight)

The flight marks the beginning of this pilgrimage tour from Mumbai, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, to Delhi, Indira Gandhi International Airport. This is mainly an onward journey to cover the distance between Maharashtra and Northern India. As you arrive in Delhi, proceed to your hotel for your overnight stay and proceed further to Uttarakhand the next morning.

Day 2: Delhi to Haridwar Transfer

The road tour will begin from Delhi to Haridwar, taking approximately 5 to 7 hrs,. covering about 210 kms. Haridwar is one of the seven holy cities in India. As you arrive and check in to the hotel, the evening is planned to visit the famous Har ki Pauri ghat for a holy dip in the River Ganga, followed by the stunning Ganga Aarti at the same place.

Day 3: Haridwar to Barkot Transfer

Enjoy a drive from Haridwar to Barkot, which takes you through the lower Himalayas and would be around a 6 to 7 hrs. drive, 180 kms. This is a beautiful village located on the banks of the Yamuna River and is considered the main base camp for exploring the first dham, Yamunotri. The remaining day would be utilized for acclimatization and rest.

Day 4: Yamunotri Day Trip

This is the day set for the first dham – Yamunotri. So, early morning takes a drive from Barkot to Janki Chatti, the roadhead about 1.5 hrs. away. From Janki Chatti, one can begin the 6 km journey, one way or take an aided pony/palki ride to Yamunotri Temple. The source of the River Yamuna and the shrine dedicated to the Goddess Yamuna. After the puja ceremony and taking the traditional bath in the hot springs, return to Barkot for an overnight stay.

Day 5: Uttarkashi Transfer

The tour proceeds further to the base of the next Dham. Take a drive from Barkot to Uttarkashi, around 4 hrs. and 100 kms away. Uttarkashi is also known as the “Kashi of the North,” lies on the Bhagirathi River. Check into your hotel and in the afternoon take a rest or some time to explore the nearby Vishwanath Temple.

Day 6: Gangotri Day Trip

The day takes you to the second dham darshan. Have an early morning drive from Uttarkashi to Gangotri, which takes approximately 4 hrs. one way.  Gangotri represents the revered source of the River Ganga. Devotees take a holy dip in the river and explore the stunning Gangotri Temple that houses Goddess Ganga. Head back to Uttarkashi for the night.

Day 7: Guptkashi Transfer

Enjoy a drive from the Gangotri region to Kedarnath’s base, taking around 10 hrs. and covering 230 kms. Guptkashi is the designated stop, a vital town on the Mandakini River and the primary gathering point for Kedarnath pilgrims. Sign in and get ready for the physically tough visit ahead.

Day 8: Kedarnath Transfer

The most challenging day of the Yatra. Travel from Guptkashi to the roadhead. From here, begin the strenuous 16 to 18 kms hike up to the mountain to the Kedarnath Temple. One of the Lord Shiva’s twelve Jyotirlingas. The night is spent in inexpensive accommodations near the temple.

Day 9: Guptkashi Transfer

The long descent follows the spiritual high that had been experienced during the early morning Darshan at the Kedarnath Temple. The hike takes you back to the roadhead, followed by a drive to Guptkashi for a much-needed rest after two physically demanding days.

Day 10: Badrinath Transfer via Joshimath

This day begins with a journey to the last Dham. You will be driven from Guptkashi to Badrinath via Joshimath. It is considered the winter seat for Badrinath, further uphill and takes around 8 to 10 hrs. in total to do so. Badrinath is the abode of Lord Vishnu. Check in and spend the evening leisurely exploring Badrinarayan Temple and the Tapt Kund.

Day 11: Rudraprayag Transfer via Joshimath

The final darshan and worship at the Badrinath Temple take place in the early morning. Visit the Mana Village, and then begin your descent from Badrinath via Joshimath. Despite staying near the Dham, you may proceed further south to Rurdraprayag, a sacred village that lies at the confluence of the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers, for a relaxing stay.

Day 12: Haridwar Transfer via Rishikesh

The last long road journey, from Rudraprayag to the plains. It goes via Rishikesh – the Yoga Capital of the World. You may take a short break here before heading to Haridwar. The last night at Haridwar will serve as a buffer before the final transfer.

Day 13: Delhi to Mumbai Flight

The pilgrimage tour finally ends with a road trip from Haridwar to Delhi, approximately taking 5 to 7 hrs. Get dropped off at Indira Gandhi International Airport for your journey back to Mumbai after completing the 13 days Char Dham Yatra from Mumbai.
