This 12 days tour itinerary begins with your arrival in Delhi from Jaipur by air. Devotees in Jaipur can book their Char Dham Yatra 12 Days and embark on a spiritually blissful experience. The tour then remains mainly on the road as it navigates through the hard yet highly spiritual circuit in Uttarakhand’s highlands.
Itinerary Details:
Day 1: Jaipur to Delhi by Flight
The pilgrimage tour begins with a direct flight from Jaipur International Airport to Indira Gandhi International Airport. It is important because of the large distance one must travel and the remaining days to be devoted to mountain journeys. As you arrive in Delhi, you will be transferred to the hotel for a relaxing night's stay.
Day 2: Haridwar Transfer
Today, you will proceed on a journey to Haridwar, 5 to 7 hrs. 210 kms. Haridwar is amongst India’s seven holiest cities. On arrival, meet our tour representative who will assist you with a transfer to your pre-booked stay. In the evening, there’s a holy bath in the Ganga at Har ki Pauri ghat, along with witnessing the beautiful Ganga Aarti, a fire rite performed. Stay overnight in Haridwar.
Day 3: Barkot Transfer & Yamunotri Dham worship
This morning, you will drive from Haridwar to Barkot, 6 to 7 hrs. 180 kms. Barkot is a beautiful town and the base camp for the Yamunotri Dham Yatra. Yamunotri Dham requires a 2-hour trek of 45 kms. Yamunotri Dham is a sacred pilgrimage site in the Garhwal Himalayas in Uttarakhand, devoted to the Goddess Yamuna and considered the main source of the Yamuna River. It is one of the most important Hindu pilgrimage sites in India, forming part of the revered Char Dham Yatra. Later return to Barkot for a relaxed overnight stay.
Day 4: Uttarkashi Transfer
Today, take a drive from Barkot to Uttarkashi, a journey of about 4 hrs. with about 100 kms. Uttarkashi is regarded as the “Kashi of the North,” located on the banks of the Bhagirathi River. Stay here to prepare for your upcoming trip to Gangotri the following day. Exploring the local Vishwanath Temple is common. Stay overnight in Uttarkashi.
Day 5: Gangotri Darshan
The day is kept for the second holy place. Early morning drive to Gangotri from Uttarkashi, 3 to 4 hrs. Gangotri is the highly revered source of the Ganga River, also known as Bhagirathi here. Devotees take a holy bath in the River Ganga and visit the Gangotri Temple to worship the Goddess Ganga. Take a drive back to Uttarkashi for an overnight stay.
Day 6: Guptkashi Transfer
This is a long and necessary road trip for a drive from Gangotri to Kedarnath’s base, 9 to 10 hrs. 230 kms. Guptkashi is a prominent holy hamlet on the Mandakini River, serving as the principal gathering point for Kedarnath pilgrims. Check in and rest to prepare for the hard ride ahead. Stay relaxed overnight.
Day 7: Kedarnath Transfer
The most difficult trekking day of the yatra. You will be escorted from Guptkashi to the Gaurikund or Sonprayag. Begin the not-so-easy trek of 16 to 18 kms to Kedarnath Temple from here. Moreover, one can choose to take a pony, doli or helicopter service, which may be pre-booked in advance. The night will be spent around the temple area at a high altitude, which facilitates getting up early to catch the morning Darshan of Lord Shiva, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas.
Day 8: Guptkashi Return
Begin descending after early morning Darshan and worship at Kedarnath Temple. A trek back to the roadhead and then a drive back to Guptkashi enables a well-deserved relaxation after the strenuous two days. Stay relaxed overnight.
Day 9: Joshimath Transfer
The expedition now turns towards the last Dham. You shall take a drive from Guptkashi to Joshimath, 5 to 7 hrs. 180 kms. Joshimath is a religiously important place because it is the winter abode of Lord Badrinath and an unavoidable halt en route to the holy temples. Stay relaxed overnight in Joshimath.
Day 10: Badrinath Darshan
The day is devoted to the final and most important Dham. Take a drive from Joshimath to Badrinat,h 2 hrs. Badrinath is for Lord Vishnu’s residence. The devotees first bathe in a medicinal hot spring, Tapt Kund, before entering the Badrinarayan temple. One can explore Mana Village, located near it. Return to Joshimath for your relaxing overnight stay after Darshan.
Day 11: Rishikesh Transfer
A long travel day is for a Rishikesh transfer of 8 to 10 hrs., as you make the final descent from the Himalayas down to Rishikesh, “Yoga Capital of the World.” The final stop on the pilgrimage route before returning to the plains. The evening can be spent exploring the popular Laxman Jhula neighbourhood. Stay relaxed in Rishikesh.
Day 12: Jaipur Departure
The journey culminates with a road transfer from Rishikesh to Delhi, 6 to 7 hrs. You will be driven from the Indira Gandhi Airport to board your connecting flight back to Jaipur after successful completion of the Char Dham Yatra.
