Tour Itinerary
Vadodara to Delhi – Arrival and City Introduction
Board a morning flight or train from Vadodara and arrive in Delhi, where you’ll be greeted by our tour representative. After a warm welcome, proceed to your pre-booked hotel for check-in. Take time to freshen up and rest after your journey. In the afternoon, set out for an introductory drive around central Delhi. Start the day with a visit to India Gate, a war memorial constructed to commemorate Indian soldiers who died during World War I. Pass by the imposing Rashtrapati Bhavan, official home of the President of India, and Parliament House, two examples of British colonial architecture. Take some wonderful photos in front of these impressive structures. As the sun sets, head to Connaught Place, one of Delhi’s most vibrant and cosmopolitan marketplaces, known for its white colonnades, cafes, boutiques, and bookshops. Enjoy a relaxing dinner at a local restaurant before returning to the hotel. Overnight stay in Delhi.
Immersion in the Heritage of Old Delhi
After breakfast at the hotel, get ready to explore the heart of Mughal India—Old Delhi. You start your day with a visit to the Red Fort (Lal Qila), a UNESCO World Heritage Site constructed in 1648 by Shah Jahan. Walk through its enormous red sandstone walls, the Diwan-i-Aam (Hall of Public Audience), and Diwan-i-Khas (Hall of Private Audience). Then, head out to Jama Masjid, one of India's largest mosques, with its beautiful courtyard that accommodates a capacity of 25,000 worshippers. From here, get a feel of Old Delhi with a heart-pumping rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk, the oldest and most bustling market in Delhi. Drive through its narrow streets lined with centuries-old shops selling spices, fabrics, jewelry, and street food. Break for a traditional snack such as parathas at Paranthe Wali Gali or taste the tasty jalebis. In the afternoon, visit Raj Ghat, the peaceful black marble monument to Mahatma Gandhi, surrounded by landscaped gardens. If time allows, visit Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib, a holy Sikh shrine. Spend the evening back at the hotel, relax after your informative day, and have a restful overnight stay.
Exploring New Delhi's Architectural and Cultural Marvels
Begin your day with a healthy breakfast before venturing out to explore the new and classy sections of Delhi. Start with a visit to Qutub Minar, the world's tallest brick minaret and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Discover its history and the Indo-Islamic architectural features that render it a masterpiece. Next, go to Humayun's Tomb, India's first garden tomb and precursor to the Taj Mahal. Marvel at its Persian-inspired symmetry, gardens, and domed architecture. Then, go to the Lotus Temple, one of the Baháʼí Houses of Worship renowned for its unique lotus flower shape and peaceful environment. In the afternoon, have lunch at a city café or restaurant. Next, proceed to Dilli Haat, an open-air market with handicrafts and cuisines from all over India. You can shop for handlooms, tribal jewelry, pottery, and other such items. Otherwise, go to Janpath Market or Sarojini Nagar for fashionable apparel and accessories at affordable prices. If evening time is available, you can opt to go to Akshardham Temple, an architectural wonder famous for its fine carvings, exhibitions, musical fountain show, and spiritual atmosphere. Return to the hotel for the night.
Free Time and Return to Vadodara
Relish your last breakfast in Delhi and spend the morning resting or wandering around as you wish. If you have your flight or train departure in the afternoon or evening, you can use the free time to go shopping for souvenirs at Paharganj, Khan Market, or Emporio Mall, depending on your interests. One can also spend a peaceful moment at the Lodhi Garden or have coffee at a café in the Hauz Khas Village. Our representative will later drop you at the airport or railway station to board your return flight/train to Vadodara, taking back with you cherished memories and a stronger bond with India's dynamic capital city.
