Arrival in Delhi – Historical Introduction
On arrival at Delhi, meet your driver and transfer to your hotel. After freshening up, start your journey with a visit to Qutub Minar, the tallest brick minaret in the world, set amidst beautiful Mughal ruins. Proceed to Humayun's Tomb, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which influenced the Taj Mahal's design. Drive by India Gate, President's House, and Parliament House, admiring the colonial buildings of New Delhi. End the day with the serene atmosphere of the Lotus Temple or visit Lodhi Garden if time permits. Overnight stay at Delhi.
Delhi Sightseeing – The Soul of the Capital
After breakfast, visit Old Delhi, with the majestic Jama Masjid built by Shah Jahan as a start. Ride through the narrow bylanes of Chandni Chowk in a rickshaw, filled with spices, jewelry, and street food vendors. See Raj Ghat, the serene memorial to Mahatma Gandhi, and pass by the Red Fort. In the afternoon, see Bangla Sahib Gurudwara, the religious Sikh gurudwara famous for its langar (community kitchen). Enjoy the evening at Connaught Place for shopping or dining. Overnight in Delhi.
Delhi to Agra – Mughal Majesty
Following breakfast, drive to Agra (around 3.5 hrs). On arrival, visit the great Agra Fort, a red sandstone fort with palaces, pavilions, and an inner court that has a view of the Taj Mahal. Later, visit the Tomb of Itmad-ud-Daulah, otherwise called the "Baby Taj," for its ornate marble inlay and peaceful gardens. In the evening, go to Mehtab Bagh for a sunset view of the Taj Mahal across the Yamuna River. Overnight in Agra.
Sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal – Fatehpur Sikri – Jaipur
Start early to see the Taj Mahal at dawn—a moment of magic when the first rays strike the white marble. Go back for breakfast and then check out of your hotel. On the way to Jaipur (around 5 hrs), visit Fatehpur Sikri, an immaculately preserved 16th-century Mughal capital with grand gates, palaces, and mosques. Drive on and stop once more at Abhaneri to see the Chand Baori stepwell, perhaps one of the deepest as well as most visually striking in India. Reach Jaipur in the evening and stay overnight in your hotel.
Jaipur Sightseeing – The Pink City Revealed
Breakfast is followed by a trip to the majestic Amber Fort, which is situated on the outskirts of the city. Visit its mirror-adorned halls, courtyards, and fine frescoes. Take in scenic views from the ramparts and take photographs at Jal Mahal, the Water Palace submerged in Man Sagar Lake. Visit the City Palace, a sprawling complex of courtyards, museums, and royal palaces. Next door, visit Jantar Mantar, the 18th-century observatory featuring giant instruments to make astronomical calculations. Finish with a visit to Hawa Mahal, its 953 small windows and honeycomb-like facade. Leisure evening. Overnight in Jaipur.
Jaipur Local Experiences – Departure
Following breakfast, experience the local scene at leisure before departure. Choose to spend the morning at Albert Hall Museum or go for a heritage walk through Tripolia Bazaar and Johari Bazaar, known for jewelry, fabrics, and handicrafts. Alternatively, go for a visit to a traditional block printing workshop or blue pottery studio to gain insights into Jaipur's artistic past. Subsequently, you will be dropped at Jaipur Airport or driven back to Delhi Airport as per your preference of travel, thereby concluding your 6-day Golden Triangle tour.
