Tour Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival in Jaipur

Upon your arrival in Jaipur, the capital city and the major craft and art center, you’ll begin a trip. After checking into the hotel, take a rest for the afternoon. The evening brings you an opportunity to discover the local bazaars, including Johari Bazaar and Bapu Bazaar, a treasure trove of ceramics, jewellery and fabrics. The vibrant shops and street activity offer the perfect ambience to learn about Rajasthani craft.
Day 2

Jaipur Blue Pottery & Block Printing Tour

Today’s interactive tour mainly focuses on two of Jaipur’s most popular crafts. You’ll be driven to the villages of Sanganer and Bagru, famous for their age-old block printing, just outside Jaipur. Meet artisans who meticulously carve wooden blocks; they will later have access to create intricate fabric designs. You will have the ability to print your own textile object and learn the technique of dabu or mud-resist printing in a workshop. In the afternoon, you will visit a workshop dedicated to Blue Pottery, a unique craft created with a specific blend of powdered glass, quartz stone powder and other natural substances. Besides learning about the process, you can try painting a piece yourself.
Day 3

Jodhpur Transfer

Post a healthy breakfast, you will take a drive to Jodhpur, commonly referred to as the Blue City, a centre for leather work and Bandhani fabric. Explore the old city after reaching and checking in. The drive will take you through narrow streets lined with shops selling exquisite leather items, Leheriya sarees and multicoloured bandhani fabric. You will visit the local workshop to witness the intricate process of making the world-famous dotted patterns on a piece of fabric by tying thousands of tiny knots before dyeing it.
Day 4

Jodhpur Art Exploration

Enjoy the architectural splendor. The day begins with a trip to the stunning Mehrangarh Fort and Jaswant Thada. Post that, take a shift to the local arts. You’ll get a chance to interact with local artisans who are masters of lacquer and wood carvings, two arts for which Jodhpur is famous. For lovely textiles, spices and antiques, you may also shop at the local markets. This blend of sightseeing at historical sites and meeting with craftspeople provides complete exposure to the cultural environment of Jaipur.
Day 5

Jodhpur Silver Jewellery and Udaipur Painting Tour

Witness the picturesque city of Udaipur today, famous for its silver jewellery and small paintings. The city is also known as the “City of Lakes,” and has a rich royal history that forms an integral part of its cultural heritage. Check into your hotel upon arrival. The main highlight of this day is exploring a studio that makes miniature paintings. Meet the artists who use brushes made of one hair from a squirrel to paint exquisite, highly detailed pieces on silk or paper. You can observe how they do this and learn about the natural dyes.
